Well, I've got some parts to sell off.

First is an LS1 shortblock. I bought this to replace my engine and decided to build up something strong. It's got about 70K on it. Nothing wrong with it, looks to be in great shape. Bolt on your manifolds, heads, accessories and sensors and you've got a good running engine. Asking $900 + shipping. I have no idea what shipping would be. If you pick it up, $800 cash.

Second is a set of stock 241 heads, complete with springs and retainers. They had about 70K miles on them. In very good shape. Asking $180 shipped. Pick it up or I meet you somewhere nearby, $150 cash.

Stock pushrods, all in good shape - none bent. Alternatively, you can sharpen them up and stab people in the neck with them. $25 shipped.

Stock cam from a 2000 Trans Am - $45 + shipping.

Stock rockers arms, complete with hardware, $115 + shipping

Stock valley cover from 2000 Trans Am - $30 + shipping.

All of the previous items are in one Ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220045817413

MSD Window Switch with 3K and 6K pills - used for 1 month, comes with the set of 3K even and 6K even pills, 10 pills total - $100 + shipping

Are you sure it's an ls1 block? 2000's sometimes came with the ls6 but you can check with the stamping on the block.

I'm fairly certain it's an LS1 block. Even if it was an LS6 there isn't that much of a difference between them. The real difference is in the cylinder heads. :)

I'm looking for an ls6 block so it makes a diff to me...slightly better cooling/oiling I've heard. Or maybe it was just one or the other.

They say that the oiling system is improved on the LS6 blocks, the galleys are different, etc. Guys have made plenty of power with regular LS1 blocks, it's all about the pump. 5.3L DOD pump rocks oil pressure. :)

the ls6 block has better "Vents" between the bays for better breathing at higher RPM also which necessitated larger main bulk heads

He blew up his LS1... he wants an LS6 :-x

Who blew up his LS1? :)
Me...I took her 8k+ for probably 75 passes and she finally gave up the ghost...but not before it went 8.781 at 161 on the rev limiter on a semi-clean pass on only 21 lbs of boost...not bad for a piece of junk on et streets at 3400 lbs. Finally kicked a rod out the oil pan...was thinking about doing a dry-sumped ls6 motor next. Better oiling block + dry sump sounds like a safe bet.

Oh, thought you had a LT1 under the hood. That's hauling ass...

What about an iron block? A nice 408. Less chance of the block warping. You know about the girdle that they make for the LS1 now, right?

To do the girdle thing, you need to have that all done when the block is getting machined so everything is perfectly aligned under stress...it's a pretty expensive process and probably not needed if you go with the iron block...I think I'm switching to an old-school sbc with a little turbo on it though anyways...going to be a long time before the lsx stuff catches up with the regular sbf/sbc stuff if it ever does...

True, the SBC has been around since the 50's. Perhaps in another 20 years or so... We all know that anything non-LSX is considerably cheaper.
