I'm not 100% sure if I want to sell this, as I love her, but need the money for my Lexus at the moment.
It's a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor. It used to be a sheriff's department car for Mahoning County, Ohio. I drove to Cleveland last month and drove it back home.
It's very solid, very dependable, has a newer battery, everything works. It's rust-free... even on the underside. There's minor surface rust but nothing else really.
Exterior wise - it's mostly flat black primer. The last owner started sanding the car down and priming the front end, but then sold it. The body panels are all straight, except for a easily repairable dent in the rear quarter panel. The car would look really sharp with a new black paintjob. All of the holes on the car are properly plugged with black plastic plugs.
Unlike 99% of these cars, the headlight lenses are actually crystal clear on mine. Most of these cars have yellowed-out hazy headlight lenses, and new headlight assemblies cost quite a bit.
Interior wise- it's very clean for it's age, mileage, and history. It's got cloth front seats and the vinyl rear seat. There are a couple holes drilled in the dash from police mounts, but nothing too bad. It's got the vinyl carpet-delete flooring, which makes the car easy to clean out.
IT HAS WORKING A/C THAT BLOWS ICE COLD.
Mechanical wise- it seems to be well maintained with no leaks whatsoever. The last owner said he changed the diff and tranny out with synthetic fluids. Also started using synthetic engine oil. I found that the car burns through synthetic, but I'm running high-mileage synthetic blend now with a Motorcraft filter, and have had no oil burning issues at all. Anyone that knows about Ford V8's will tell you a little oil burning is no big deal.
Other than that, it's got a radiator out of an 06 Crown Vic, it's got the 03+ CVPI intake on it, and it has a working spotlight, as well as a trunk-mounted antenna. It's got 2 new ignition coils, and all new Motorcraft Platinum sparkplugs within the last couple thousand miles. I also bought a cupholder/ashtray assembly for it, because the vast majority of police cars don't have one. The tires are meaty and still have lots of life left.
I have started tinting the car, the sides are done, however, the rear still needs to be tinted. I think it makes the car look 100% better, but I can always remove the tint if you don't want it, or just remove the front windows to make it "legal".
Feature-wise, it's got power windows, power locks, 6-way power seat, power mirrors, all that jazz. It has traction control and ABS, dual SRS airbags.
Now, for the pictures:
(Those are the only pics I have... I can get more if you're honestly interested)
There is one thing that it's going to need soon- a cat delete and MIL eliminators. I believe the cats are plugged up, and because of that, the secondary O2 sensors are throwing a P0420 and P0430 code, most likely triggering an open-loop and causing a lack in power and gas mileage. Good news is- I can get this all done and MIL eliminators wired up if you're willing to wait a week or two.
Like I said, the car is solid and reliable, I've had no issues whatsoever with it's drivability or anything. I would love to keep this thing, but financial issues are keeping me from doing so.
It's tons of fun to drive, I invite you to come out and take a look if you're serious. No tire-kickers please. I'm asking $1500 OBO and the car is located in Macomb Township, MI. I have clear Michigan title in hand.
I'll also throw in a radio install kit and wiring harness to wire up your own headunit, because the P71's came with the bottom-of-the-line Ford fleet radio that has a whopping 4 presets.
Thanks for looking.
