Front wheel drive

My sister owns a 2001 Pontiac Montana mini van, minus the soccer mom rear window sticker. Anyhow her van makes a slight clunking noise with a vibration. It really sounds like a small propeller air plane. You can feel the vibration in the floor. It seems to be speed related. You don't feel it in the steering wheel like a CV joint. Any ideas? Thanks.

The van has 109K miles on it. I did not notice if the noise changed with side loads. The noise did change with vehicle speed. Another thing is the transmission was rebuilt about 30K miles ago. How bad would it be to change a wheel bearing on this van?

Easy... Take the wheel off... Take the caliper off... Take the caliper bracket off... Then undo the axle nut... Then upbolt the wheel bearing from the back... Pop out the hub assembly... And pop in the new one... Follow steps backwards to put on...

If you need a hub bearing let me know... I'll take care of it and beat everyone's prices...

So it does not sound to be much worse then doing a brake job. Hopefully that is the issue. I hate to be taking a shot in the dark at it. Of course money is tight so I got to get it right.

So far everything said is pretty good. All I have to add is that Reiko is a top notch person to deal with.

take it to a midus shop since they do free estimates. theyll be able to tell you what the problem is for sure. then you can just go do the work yourself without wasting money on guesses. without actually driving it myself its kinda hard for me to give you my best opinion. could be a few different things. maybe even a slightly bent rim.

The propeller type sound is most likely a bad wheel bearing, montana's and just about any GM is famous for these to go bad eventually, when u buy one get a good one, ive had problems with the economy units not lasting
