Seems like it's getting worse, but it could just be in my head. It's definitely not normal tho. Going into 1, 3, 5, the shifter is having to go unusually far forward, to the point where I'm smacking the heater controls/etc with the knob. Wasn't like this before. I'm hoping maybe I just bent the handle or something somehow? Needed an excuse for a short throw anyway. +rep for you guys as usual.

I'd check to see if one of the bolts is broke?? Most likely the top bolt. I seen this happen on an 88 turbocoupe. :\

I had the same thing happen to me.. I replaced the bolts and but a UMI short throw shifter on it while i was in there...
