Fox Mustang Wheel Size?

I want to fit the widest rear wheel\tire combo on my 85 gt stang. I have drum brakes and currently running quad shocks. what with\ backspacing rim should i go with? Not looking to stick out past the wheel well lip, what would the widest speck be with and without the quad shock?
 
Get rid of the quad shock... I run 15x8 w/ 5.5" backspacing on all the mustangs i've had.... With 275-60-15 radials or 28x10.5 slicks... Lips will have to be rolled and inner of the well will need a little attention too!!!
 
On my '86, I have a 15x8 with 5.5 bs and a 1/4 " spacer, I run a 275/50/15 MT ET DR.


No quad shock and I've massaged the inner wheel well slightly.

What is the widest tire without rolling the lip?

It really depends on how tall or wide ya want to go and what rear coils you have. Take the quads off, massage the inner fender wells in and throw a 255-60-15 on it or a 275-50-15....
The best look would be a 275-60-15 or a 28x10.5 slick but those would require rolling the lips.

yea i will probably end up rolling them. Did it once before on my 82.

the lips don't need rolled. on ours, someone rolled the l/h previously, but the tires fit perfectly in stock configuration.

If you want Pro Stars you'll need to go 5 lug, the only other option is the Summitt knock-offs, they come in 4 lug.
