I have been slowly plugging away at swapping out the wire harness on my 87 and the hvac unit needs to be removed or pulled away from the firewall on the right side to get the connector thru. I have the have set back the dash and column and removed as many bolts out of the hvac that I can see and it's still sitting tight to the firewall. I must be missing a couple somewhere are there any in the engine compartment? Help is appreciated

on most cars, there are some in the engine compartment, usually studs on the HVAC box, with nuts under the hood

there are some tidbits of info. Maybe you have to pull the dash further away? If the dash is pinning the HVAC to the firewall you are gonna have a bad time. lol

Also, make sure all of the bolts are loose at the top by the windshield and check to see if the heater hoses or AC lines are holding it in place.

The studs for the accumulator that at first glance look like they are welded or are a screw in stud are actually art of the box. As soon as I took the nuts off she was loose as a goose. thanks all

Ok so I have everything run and hooked up dash reassembled minus counsel. Now I have a crank no start, I do not hear the fuel pump priming when the key is turned on. Is there a ground I may be missing? I checked the ground near the relay under the seat looks alright and when the key is turned on I can hear the EEC relay click.

I'm not feeling the fuel pump relay click and when I jump the fuel pump at the test connector there is nothing. Am I looking at a bad fuse link?

is there a fuse link in the FP wiring?

have you tried swapping the relays or jumping the high current side of the FP circuit?

you can also check the voltage "at the pump" to verify circuit operation
