Fox body gauges (all stock) don't work

I had the dash completely out to do a heater core and evap core, put it back together and the gauges don't work. At first they worked but the lights didn't, now nothing works. Heater, blower, headlights, blinkers etc work fine and the car runs fine. I visually checked the fuses and they looked OK and as far as I can see everything is plugged in. Any suggestions?
 
Check the grounds, you might have missed one. They might go where the dash mounts in some places. Thats how the fbody is.

I believe its his boys. Pull the cluster back out and make sure everything is connected. Sometimes they will hook on one side and appear to be on there while the other side is hanging off. I wish you guys lived closer. i would swing by and check it out.
 
Double check all your connections. If it worked before you took it all out and you didnt break anything then odds are somethingis not making the appropriate connection.

It's my son's (Ben). I think you've met him. He'll be driving this summer as a learner but won't turn 16 until next year.

Thanks Dave. I've got the cluster back out and the connections seem solid but I'll check for what you mentioned. I wish we lived closer too!

Yes I remember him with you a couple times. Wow time flies!

I say check the grounds because I pulled the dash out of the race car the other day but I am keeping the stock cluster. I plugged all the connections in and wanted to make sure everything worked. When I turned the key the guages were erratic at first then didn't work at all. I was ready to flip out but it was just a ground in the wiring harness that I overlooked and forgot to put back. It had to come off to get the dash out since the ground was the stud to mount the dash.

He got the car because I wanted it :)

It'll grow on him! Seriously though, he is geeked about it. I did own a Mustang also, but it was probably before you were born.

It's just a grey 87 hatch, LX, 5.0 auto. Kind of a stripper but very solid. I don't have any good pics but it is the one SVT32VDOHC was selling back on January 10 so you can probably find some pics way back in the for sale section.
