btw, I am neutral on unions, not for, or against them. I am against protecting the wrong people, though.
 
Meh, not as big a deal as it sounds. I mean, you're just going to get fucked by new union guys, to a lesser degree. My favorite part of the whole U.S auto industry dynamic is when UAW bosses say "we are deeply concerned by __insert domestic manufacturer here___'s market share losses". Yes, so all three of the companies you dominate should have 33%, especially based on the uber-quality reputation your organization brings to the table :laugh: Don't get me wrong, I know there are good union guys, but I've witnessed firsthand just how much they don't give a fuck to know that there aren't nearly enough good ones to survive as is.

It's a shame really. If I worked for the big 3, I would bust my ass off.......Job Security. I just hope that things get better soon.
 
My boss was telling me that when he was working for Ford, the pipefitters would drive around the plant in their carts and look for leaky faucets to fix. When they found one, they would write a suggestion, then wouldn't touch it until their suggestion got approved. That is the mentality that has killed the UAW and all the domestic OEM's.

it has nothing to do with the vehicles, just the over paid people that have been there for 35 years
 
No but its the UAW fault a line worker makes more money then the guys who spent 6 years in college to design those crappy cars. Plus its the UAW that doesnt allow ford to fire employees who dont sho up 20% of the time or get caught doing drugs at work, or being at the bar while they are clocked into the clock, because they are medical problems. And its also the uaws fault that the "job pool" exists.

Ditto. Ford products are like Buicks! They look like they should be driven by old people

Its time to hire some new designers. They probably got guys working there that designed the Model T!

The only Ford product that looks pretty decent is the new Lincoln Zephyr. It's the first Ford product I ever seen that I would consider buying.

Time to freshen things up!

that is correct sir!! If they would lose the uaw they might see some work get done!! And they could weed out the losers!!
 
The UAW served a purpose back in the day. Now the UAW's only purpose is to serve itself.

I sell to ALOT of union guys. 80% are hard working men and women that love thier company. The other 20% are slackers,clock milkers and cry babies.

Don't get me wrong I'll sell to all of them, but I'd rather see the company<FoMoCo> trim that 20% up.

I think certain guys should be forced to retire if they can't perform thier job.

I think a 3 strike rule should be inforced.

I think UAW workers shouldn't protect thier lazy co-workers.

I think the UAW should trim the fat themselves.

I'm done thinking. It hurts too much :D
 
So when these good paying jobs are gone and replaced with slave labor wages, I'm sure the price of cars will drop...

The prices would drop or else no one would be able to buy your car, then your company would go under. Simple economics.
 
I have worked with many union people. what you guys said is right. Some work very hard and are good at what they do. Others don't do a thing and get away with stuff that would get people in a normal workplace fired in about 2 seconds
