Ford Explorer drivetrain help

The car is has a bad vibration under low speed acceleration when turning moderate to full (parking lots). It may happen at high speed also but you never turn to full lock at 55mph, ya know? The vibration seems to be coming from front end but it's honestly hard to tell. The brakes have all been gone through and they check out so I was thinking a CV shavt/joint? The boots are fine and leaking no grease but the thing does have 98k on it. Ujoints don't make much sense cause it only does it while turning... It also happens turning both ways and not at high speeds like a wheel bearing.

Any of you ford guys wanna check the TSB's?

we used to do the axle tests for ford. it sounds like the limited slip is chattering to me. Sometimes changing the fluid and adative will help but not for long

Under hard accel the drivetrain has always clunked but 3 other peoples explorers we know did that too.

But yeah, I'll change the fluid in the frotn and rear for sure! The T.C. was changed like 38k ago. Off hand you know the fluids and capacitys for the front and rear diffs?

ditto the posi chatter. i just changed bearings clutches & wheel bearings on one (rear only)today...rear holds about 2 quarts, but it calls for a 75-140wt synthetic gear lube, along with 4 oz of posi additive. front is about the same amount, little less, unsure of lube requirements for front off hand.
