Ford 8.8 question

1st, Is the rubber dog bone looking thing that bolts to the underside of the differential housing a vibration dampener? is it a necessity to reinstall?

2nd, how much gear lube is required in 8.8 out of a 91 mustang? i know you fill till it starts coming out the fill port but just wondering the exact measurement.

The dogbone is a vibration eliminator. It only works when the original gear ratio is retained. No its not needed- get rid of it
