Floorpan Help

Hey everyone. I am trying to get a feel for how much some help in replacing the floorpan on my car might cost.

My brother and I attempted to do a patch job last August, and my car still sits, unrepaired. Here is where it sits right now:

  • The whole interior is already out.
  • There is a poorlyl fit replacement panel partially welded in on the driver side.
  • Have the passenger replacement panel.
  • The interior will be customized so factory seat height, shifter position, etc not a problem.
  • It can be towed to and from the shop.

Realistically, I know I am not building a super classic or show car. I would like to at the very least get this car project moving again. I have certainly hit a point where I do not have the knowledge, experience, tools or facilities to complete this repair. Unfortunately, I also work as a paramedic and need to work quite a bit just to pay my bills. As a result, I need to work hard to find the best price for what I need to accomplish.

I really prefer fiberglass patching not be a solution.

If anyone knows of a great shop that does good work for a decent price in this kind of area or have done this plenty of times please let me know. If any of you individuals have experience and facilities/tools to do this and would like to help, let me know what I am looking at as far as time and money.

Kind of as a last resort, this car is also for sale under the right conditions (meaning I would like to try and fix it and keep it). I have many parts for this car I have collected in an attempt to fix this thing up.

Here are some pictures of the job at hand:

I just realized that it is difficult to see why it is poorly fit. First, on the tunnel, the patch and the original look terrible. The patch panel is laid over original metal around most of the repair, causing the panel to sit above where it should and not make contact with the subframe underneath.

Also, there are several holes I made with the air chisel that would also need to be repaired. I was considering what it might cost for a square type tunnel and a completely flat floor might cost (similiar to what is done in race cars). Again, cost is an issue so I am just pricing such an option at the moment.

Please contact me if you are interested or know of a shop. As always, if there are questions, please ask. I can be contacted at [email protected].

Thanks guys. Can't wait to see those sweet rides this summer.
