fixing water drainage problem

there used to be a deck here and we removed it yesterday (thanks Ryan)
now we started digging out the dirt from the foundation and we are not quite deep enough yet.

anybody need any really wet topsoil/claylike material?
the tree roots were unreal! I had all my trees cut down and stumps ground and the big roots spread all across the backyard!

If I had a way to get it to my house I'd take that dirt off of your hands. Where are you located?
 
youre gonna need the dirt to backfill, dont give it away just yet.

are you going all the way around the foundation to put in drain tile to the storm drains?

I wanted to use the backhoe but he doesnt have the bracket made yet to mount it to the back of the JD. the backhoe would be alot easier.

the tractor is easier than shoveling for sure!

Im going to put the drain tile level at the foundation footing, cover it with peastone and sand and then top it with sloped concrete. the drain tile will dumpout at the storm drains. Mark was telling me he that he knows a guy that dug a basement under the existing home with his dad and all they used was shovels and wheelbarrows! unreal! the house was there but they put a basement under it...

yeah Mark was just sitting there watching me and then I had too much on the bucket and no counter weight on the back of the tractor and it went forward and tipped almost over, I bailed off of it and the tractor shuts off, I says "thats it you do it now!" And then I watched him almost tip it over numberous times. That stuff is super heavy and with no counterweight on the back of the tractor going up that degree of an incline was pretty scary for me.
he looked as if he was enjoying himself.. :shake:
