Five years and an hour or so ago...

i was a junior in high school , me and some classmates were filming stuff for a video productions class and we walked in the library and it was on tv, and about the time we walked in the 2nd plane hit live on tv, we went back to class and started telling everyone and not long after they cam eover the PA and then locked the school donw soon after that

i was walking down broadway for an interview when the first plane hit...all the people standing around were in the same emotion as i...utter disbelief..i heard the plane and itdidnt dawn on me, "planes aretn supposed to fly over manhatten" not even small planes....and this plane was big and it was movin..before i even had a chance to lookup "BBOOOOOOMMM" it was aweird erry silence, then people screaming...then silence as people stopped there lives to watch...from were i was i coulndt see the 2nd plane coming in from the northwest..as i stood there looking up, in happend in slow motion i didnt see the plane actually hit but i saw the other side of the building buckle and then fire shot out the other side...and peices of EVERYTHING flew out of the building.

i stayed and watched limke the entire country...my wife couldnt get a hold of me and she was flipping...when she saw them fall as did i...she was inbad shape..i coulndt imagine what other people were thingkin knowing there there loved ones were on the planes or in the buildings

god bless the police, firefighters and port authority...thank you to our military for the dedication and unrelentless asskicking to protect our country..andmost of all GOD BLESS AMERICA and NEVER FORGET

ona side note one of my best firends is a marineand just got out of iraq...he was there for almost 4 years..itried to join when i turned 19 (6 months before9/11) and i was turned down do to a broken leg i had when 15

Anyone else get full goosebumps reading every story no matter how little or big thier story is? It is crazy, how many of you let people merge that day, or turn in front of you or didnt care if they were doing 5 under the speed limit? I for one say I hate people all the time, on that day, for the rest of the week I could of cared less of how people were driving or acting. People were people it to me seemed like what life used to be like and how people said it used to be 'back in the day' like others said sureal. It would be great if everyone could always stick together like that time on 9/11. :(

Was sleeping after a night of bartending.
My sister woke me up from work and told me about it. Watched it all morning.

RIP NYFD

I was at work here in Dearborn, listening to Drew and Mike. After they said that a plane hit, I got on CNN.com and then called my wife, who was at home. She watched the second plane hit on tv while I was talking to her. Around 10:30, they told everyone to go home to be with their families. We ended up at the Volvo dealer to get some things done on the car and watched CNN for a few hours there.

A friend of mine was a few blocks away, already in his office, when it happened. He said that he watched both planes fly by his window, go past another building, and then impact. He was pretty messed up for a few months afterwards, knowing that he was so close. He ended up transferring out of NYC after that because he didn't feel safe in the city.

RIP.

I was in my Trig class(High School Jr year) listening to the teacher when someone came in the room from another class came in and said "turn on the TV. the towers have just been hit by planes" We watched it the rest of that day, nobody did anymore work for the whole day.

I was at work in Grand Rapids, talking to 8URZOH6 on AIM.... I still have the aim conversation saved, but it was along the lines of what a dumb ass pilot, flying a plane into a big building... then when the 2nd one hit, the tune changed...

9/11

I was at work listening to the radio when the first plane hit, and I continued to do my job.......when the second plane hit, I raced home to grab a TV and bring it back to work. The four of us just sat and watched the events unfold for the rest of the day.....I remember laying in bed that night listening to fighter jets flying overhead from Selfridge.....if I had been young enough, I would of joined the Armed Forces on 9/12/01.....I hope that my kids never see a day like that again.

michigan history class room 313 port huron northern high school. i was a freshman. and a teacher from across the hall came in and told my teacher to turn it on on the tv. this was right after the first plane hit. we watched the second plane hit as well, and i remember my teacher, one of the toughest teachers in the school, and a football coach....broke down crying after the second plane hit. it was bad. the room was dead silent. actually, the whole school was pretty much silent. but every classroom had the tv on. then the principle came over the p.a. and announced we had been attacked, and that counselours were available to anyone that needed one. and then she pretty much told us to just relax and not worry about the school work.

gosh that day sucked. it was such a weird feeling, cause like everyone was pretty much expressionless.

I was at work on Oxford street paintig R.B.'s house. My friend Brian and i were listening to The Fan about Ty Detmer throwing 7 interceptions. We then unloaded the truck and by the time we plugged in the radio (which was usually first) the first plane hit the tower. R.B. told us to come to the basemet and see the tower on fire, then while watching t.v. we saw what I never thought possible. No need to go further on what we saw. I went ad got my daughter from school, went home cried, yelled, cried some more.

Worst day of my life.

I was in Automotive school down in TN with kids from all around the states. The first plane had hit just before break and i was walking around not quite hearing what ppl were saying but my curiosity was peaked from their expressions. We wre sent home in full panic mode due to many students being from NY. I was under the impression that we were at full scale WAR at our homeland. I RAN a 1/2 mile to my house and watched my roomates expressions as i hit the door. I sat on the couch about 2 minutes before the 2nd plane hit. Everyone was totally freaked out and expected rioting and the young guys to be drafted anyday. My cousin was downtown looking for his roomate and helping after the towers fell.
