First trip with new AK74

I went with a buddy from work to Island Lakes and we put my new AK through its paces. The target in the picture has 30 holes from 36 shots at 50 yards. We only had the iron sights that came on the gun to use and he had never shot a rifle before and I had never shot this gun so I was pretty impressed with how many hits we had and the general grouping of those hits.

But maybe it's not anything to write home about. lol

Its pretty good. They're suprisingly accurate if they have the original barrel and setup. Mine was shooting sub 3'' from a prone unsupported at 90m

Just a small step up. 5.45x39. Most of the ballastic stuff I've seen (there's a good comparison on youtube) shows that it's nearly the same as the American 5.56x45 round. Most countries are not using the 7.62x39 anymore (original AK round) except for special ops.
