car is a 90 mustang coupe,3165 with me in it, std bore 302, scat rods, block filled to water pump holes, apr studs on mains and heads, world sr. ported, 2.05"/1.60", 58 cc, titainium retainers(1.55" dual springs)tfs stage 3 hyd roller, comp short travel lifters, funnel web intake,650 dp,1 3/4" long tubes, 3" turndowns, 9.7 comp, flat top forged pistons,7 qrt pan, oil cooler, electric water pump, c4 W/4000 stall,4.30 gear, 28x9-15 M/T et drags . dedicated fuel system for the nitrous(5.5psi) 31 spl strange axles, spool, megabite jr lowers and uppers, coilover up front, lakewood drag springs w/ air bags out back,

. went 12.80 on wore out 275 dragradials. I have put on a dual stage NOS system(75-150)1st/(150-200)2nd. first time out I'll use a 100 shot. any idea what it will do? no cage yet, so 11.50's are the limit.

You might have too loose of a converter and too steep of a gear. Might see good gains, might not.

Try it and report back! :)

I would guess the converter is good but your gonna need to change the gear for Shure , or let off early lol

I have enough gear, tire and rpm for 120-122 mph. but i did think the converter might be too loose for nitrous. on motor, I shift at 6800-7000 rpm. even shifting at 6400 on nitrous, it should pull good. forgot to add, have three stage msd retard, rpm window switch.. I'll hook up the progressive controller later.

That should run much better on motor....why are you shifting that high, I'd be willing to bet it isn't making power at the rpm.

Ok, you asked for a guess so I'm gonna guess. With traction your car might have gone 12.5 before so with the 100 hit I'll sat 11.5 @ 118. Yes, you have enough gear for that but I must defer to the experts on the converter. Now if you use the second stage at 100 then you will most likely knock off another second, so 10.5 @ 124. Save that pass for your last of the day if you know what I mean. :)

Those are my guesses. Tell me what I won in the spring! Lol

On a good clean pass with it tuned up right I'd expect ~11.0 on the 100 shot. Those heads are a big window for the cubic inch an prob make it a lil lazy on the motor with that low of compression, I bet it will respond really good to nitrous. I'd be willing to bet on a 250 hit it'll run into the 9's but you'll be finding that edge of the stock blocks limit pretty quick. The convertor will be perfect as long as its a nitrous convertor and doesnt slip a ton when you spray it, change the gear to a 3.73, with the 4.30 it'll be outa steam around 800' and spinning them stock blocks over 65-6800 is bad news.

I tossed together a 302 with windsor Jr heads out of the box no port work, e-cam and a cheater plate kit. 3800-4200rpm edge pro convertor (flashed about 4500 when i hit it with 250) 4.30 gear on 28's. Thing ran like a sob to the 1/8, 1.30 60's on the back tire & 6.27 1/8 mile but was outa wind by 700' and went thru the traps over 7500, still went 10.28 like that with a crap mph. It would only run 12.70 on the motor too!

I went 10.90 on 100shot with my 302 my first time out. 302, 373 gear, 3500 9"inch nitrous converter, SVO heads. Now with a big shot on 225 its almost in the 9's. I shift at 6200 on spray.

How much to have you check out my plugs after a hit. I plan on going opening day.

first time nitrous

four speed, that sounds very intresting. we might be able to do it. everybody, this is not going to be a dedicated nitrous car. I drive it to and thru the Telegraph and Woodward cruises with out running hot on the hottest day. I'm satisfied with mid 12's on pump gas. I'll try my vic jr intake to see if it picks up a little. I have both a 650 and 750 dp carb to see if it makes a difference. if I where to use it soley for nitrous, I'd get the 351w I have stashed away and build a good motor. this is a low buck car and what ever it does, so be it. I don't like a caged car for street driving, the door bar is a pain. I,m not buying a tighter converter. but a true 28" tire is possible, the M/T 28x9 is really 27.2" tall. I'd get some Goodyear 28x10's. more than likey, a 100-125 shot will be used occasionally.

I started out last yr shifting at 6000 to test that idea. it picked up every time I went higher. up to 7100, where it fell off. 6800-6900 is the sweet spot. I know it has too much cam and intake.

i think you will be fine with the gear, that lil motor dont make any torque your gonna have to spin it to go anywhere. and you should not need two kits or a progressive for that lil bit of hp. spray it all at the line and go from there. you dont have a 7-8sec car so why do you need 2 kits or a progressive? it will be the fastest spraying everything out of the hole.

That's just flat out awesome!

Holy crap! I feel like I'm pushing it through the traps at 6500, I know my current valve springs don't like it for sure as I pick up mph when going to my taller tires. Will be interesting to see what it does on the bottle. Hopefully get to meet some of you guys opening day down there.

I agree, no need for a progressive on a car like that, it would be a waste of money put the 500+ dollars in something else.
