Well after the damn thing sitting for way to long because money has been tight me and my dad pulled the Mustang back out to finish tearing the body apart for body work and paint.

Little background info on the car.....
My grandfather bought it for my grandma back in 1972 off the showroom floor. In 1976, she got sick of the car and sold it to my dad. He drove it as a daily driver for 8 years until 1984 when my parents bought another car and had to use the Mustang's coil as a replacement for the new ride. It sat from 1984 until 2006 when my dad finally said it's time to tear into it. It's a triple white (white exterior, white interior, white top) 1973 Mustang with a 351 Clevland, automatic, and 58k orginal miles. Here are some pics......

flames on the windshield, badazz!!! lol

awesome project :)

My dad's boss did that! I'm not a fan of convertables but it's a cool project cause it's been in the family since new. They parked it late 1984 and I was born in 1985 so I haven't seen it run.

Sweet - You guys are into it now!

Tom, I was never a fan of verts either!!!! Well then I had one available to buy that I could not pass up (yes my 67)! There is not many driving experiences better than cruising with the top down on a beautiful summer night! (banging the woman in the back with the top down is fun too-)

I think the convertibles are the best looking version of the 71-73 Mustangs. Really cool car, and you can fit any motor in it.

My Dad and I restored a 70 Shelby before his accident. It was the best 2yrs we spent together. When you are old and gray you will look back with fond memories.

Good to see the 'stang back outta the barn to be worked on.... Didn't we start tearing into that thing in '04????

I'll have to run down later this week or weekend and take another look at it before it heads out.

I honestly don't like the feeling of not having a top there. 'verts and jeeps scare the hell out of me for some reason. Yet I pop a boner anytime I drive in something with the ttops off......

I hope I will. Because the only times me and my dad aren't in each others face are this car and snowmobile trips.

Yeah, August 2004. Then my dad's work became REALLY slow so it came to a hault. He went from not having a job for 6 weeks at a time to having 6 at a time! It will be here for a few weeks still. I gotta tear off the rear end tonight when I get home from Kirsten's "special" dinner (whatever the fuck that means) and then tomorrow pull it out and powerwash it. When my dad gets home tomorrow we are doing a total overview of the body and the panels that need to be ordered. It for sure needs all new floorboards, a new tail panel, new grill, new pass. side inner fenderwell, and a right front fender. The rust over the rear tires it totally fixable and there is one tiny hole in the trunk but the rest of it looks good so we're just going to do a patch panel. It's a nice resto but not a concourse car.....

you going to do a cam or anything or just stock?

Exterior - Stock with Crager SS's

Interior - Stock but we might toss in black seats instead of white cause they have to be recovered anyways.

Engine - 351c with small cam, performer intake, holly 650 carb, headers, and a flowmaster dual exhaust.

Suspension - stock

Brakes - stock with rebuilt calipers and new pads.

Stereo - upgraded speakers with a CD/MP3 player. Not sure if we want it in the dash or put a stock FM radio/8track in the dash and put the MP3 player in glovebox

My favorite part of the car is that it has a parking sticker in the back window from 1976 from Oakland University. My dad is doing everythign he can to leave it on there! That's vintage!

Ok, so I didn't back until 1am from dinner, a movie, and some TV time. Would my girlfriend be pissed by last nights actions? Yes. Did I do anything wrong? No!

Ok, anyways, today I went out and tore the crap off the back of the car and snapped a few pics of the engine on the stand.
