Today I had My 1 year old open car trailer stolen with my buddies f150 on it. We had it parked with a lock on it at my dads work, and I was all backed up getting ready hook up to it an realized I forgot the key, told my buddy im just going to cut the lock because I had my service truck with a torch and air comp. on it then I decided because we weren't in that big of a hurry I am just going to go back to the house and grab the keys literally 20 minutes goes by we show back up with the keys and the fucker is gone. so instead of losing a 30 dollar chain and lock set I lost a 3500 dollar trailer and a 2000 dollar truck. Im so pissed right now took the damn cops an hour to show up to make a report to. :bs:
 
Dang dude. That sucks! Hard to believe the po-po down there are as incompetent as the ones in Detroit!! Hope they find your stuff.
 
Yea it would be nice to get it back the truck was broken that's why it was on there, but the trailer was almost brand new.
 
What really sucks is that they took an hour to show up. If there was a cop in your area that arrived quickly, they could have called out a description on the radio and maybe the thieves would still be driving with it and have been caught.
 
If it was just a lock through the coupler then someone probably just backed up with a 1 7/8" ball and forced it on. I usually padlock a cut off trailer hitch ball in mine for this reason.
 
It was just a regular masterlock tounge lock, and it was stolen from Lavergne Tn. right outside of Nashville assholes also got away with my new axle straps and tie downs, at least I had not mounted the battery and winch on the trailer yet that I just bought. My buddy is going to call scrap yards about the truck because it was 94 and someone was telling me that if the car is over 10 years old they can scrap it without the title.
 
Update: buddy called scrap yards today and we found his truck untouched we watched the video an the guy had it my trailer and the truck rolling across the scales 11 minutes after I called the cops, they will release the truck tomorrow once the detective over the case verifys everything but they might make a move on the guy that stole the shit tomorrow, guy gave his finger prints drivers licence when he rolled the truck off, unfortunately they would tell us where he lived. I want my trailer back .
 
glad to hear the found the truck, thats why having insurance is a good thing, agreed that the feeling of having your shit taken also sucks.
 
I have some connections at TV stations in Nashville, if you want to talk to one of them I can makes some calls.
 
Sounds like they have enough to go after this scumbag. Good detective work on your buddy's part to find the scrapyard!
