Explorer Sport?

Been toying with the idea of getting one for the wife. Now that we have a dog, the sedan just isn't as comfortable, and the idea of AWD and the flexibility of the SUV/CUV seems more fitting for us right now. Just wondering if anyone on here has feedback on them. Any known issues with them, things to do (no tune, not my DD), and options to get/avoid? I was thinking of getting one with 401A and the 2nd row bench. We'd probably keep the 3rd row folded down for the dog and hauling capability most of the time.

Yes, I know the '16 has the updates. Not totally opposed to waiting on that. Anyone know when Sync 3 will hit them? 17MY?

I wasn't impressed with the interior space when we test drove one, but that was 2012, so I don't know if anything has changed.

After test driving a 2013 Sport for a week we were hooked and ordered a 2014 Sport. It's for the wife and she drives it 90% of the time and me 5%:dw:
Anyways after having a 2004 Explorer Limited V8 and putting on 200K with no real problems, we are VERY pleased with this one. (and I'm not even that much a Ford guy) The twin turbo power is fun! So far after 17k miles we have zero problems except one speeding ticket from the wife. (really)
The only add on was an RX catch can. Don't really want to put a tune on it with the wife mostly driving. Get 21 mpg average even with me hot rodding it. Handles awesome for a SUV. We ordered every option but second row buckets, wife needs the open space for work. I must say, I don't think I would order the moon roof again because we hardly ever open it.
Overall, we love it!

If you live near or spend any time in Detroit get ready to walk out to it sitting on blocks with no wheels. Other than that nice vehicles.

Get the Livernois tune. Mpg goes up. 4-5 on my wife's fusion. 1-2 on my f150, but I have a very heavy foot

Gotta use 12 point sockets. A set of those , brass hammer and the 18 volt impact make it fast. Swap the battery to the cordless sawzall and the cat goes too

We have one. Love it. Got 2 12 year old boys and a 16 year old daughter. With the third row seat up, there isn't much room behind it though. Wife's car now. She loves it more than I did I think. LOL

Second row buckets sound nice and are nice for adults but suck for anything other than that. It seems like you are always fighting to squeeze anything into an SUV with the rear buckets

You can get the 2nd row without the console. It seems like most of the ones I find on lots have the buckets and console both though.
