Exhaust Question

Running a MAC o/r H pipe on my Mustang right now and a Flowmaster American Thunder catback. I really like the look of the 94-98 mustangs w/o tailpipes and Im thinking of taking them off and going to turndowns off the back of the mufflers.

How much louder will this make my exhaust? Will it affect the smooth sound of the exhaust note or will it stay pretty much the same just louder?
I just don't want it to sound really loud and nasty, I like the smooth clean sound.

the noise inside the car will be louder as you are dumping under the back seat.
but loud and nasty it will not be. The note of the sound should be throatier.
I think it should sound good.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, just louder in car, maybe more of a drone of the freeway. Im just making sure its not gonna start making really rough exhaust notes like popping etc.

Any other opinions?

in my expierence it changes the exhaust note a little and makes the car louder. not a bad sound just diff

Alright sounds good, I think I'll give it a shot sometime this week. It will be an easy enough experiment so whatever.

My buddy has this done to his 95 GT. Its real throaty and deep, I like how it sounds but kinda gets annoying after cruisin around all night and the exhaust fumes get into the car.

it gives it a deep throaty sound, make sure to actually put dumps on when "testing" it because they are much louder without any sort of turn-down pipe on the muffler. I have longtubes, 3" prochamber and 3" pro-dumps on my car and love it.
