escalade gas gauge stuck on E, wth's wrong

Idk what the hell is going on but its stuck on E. Put $80 in gas and still shows empty, it had a quarter tank then the gaugejustdropped to E.That'swhen I filled itup and noticed the gauge didn't move. Is this the sending unit that took a shit on me???? Any tips
 
I work at a Chevy dealer. It happens to a lot of gm vehicles. More then likely the sending unit took a shit
 
Sending unit, the one in my xtreme was replaced twice under warrenty, same type of sensor

Drop gas tank, Noooooo!!!!!!!!!!! FML. I was told also on the tahoeyukonforum that it can be the gas gauge too, I do know that the sending unit is known ti go bad on these suv's. Dammit I'm gonna have to find some time to do this problem.
 
it'snot asbad of a job asyouthinkg it is. Justrun the tank to what you thinkempty is. (carry a couple galon of fuel tho just in case) Jack itupand drop the tank. Putnew sensor in and go. You canalsocheck the sensor with an ohm meter to see if it's the problem. I'm with Reiko, pump is probly about done too if it's over 100K miles. PM him for a price on the whole get up.
