Epoxy Floor Kits

I'm looking to epoxy the floor in my new house with a 2.5 car garage. Does anyone have any recommendations? I feel like my worst enemy is going to be snowmobile carbides/studs. No kits going to protect against that.

What does everyone use?

Look at Epoxy Coat. You can custom mix colors of base and flakes, add in clear on top, and the application is pretty straightforward. They also have the thickest epoxy on the market. Skip the RustOleum kits. We did it in my parent's garage and it lasted less than 3 years.

a couple reviews i read online made epoxy coat sound good. Lowe's has it on their website. Is it on the shelf at the store or would i have to order it?

Look around garage journal. I think a sponsor deals with Epoxy Coat.

Post the results. I plan to do my 3 car garage in a couple years.

I believe you're better off ordering from them directly.

Once we buy a house, it'll be one of the first things I do in the garage. Black base with white, silver, and grey flakes.

Those are some nice shiny floors^.

What needs to be done for an old surface with cracks? Do you need to cut and re-pour concrete or are there other options?

I'm not sure, give a call. I spoke with them last year, I planned to have it done at my new house but haven't yet.

I did my garage with Epoxy-Coat and wasn't all that happy with the results. The stuff bubbles as it dries. If you call them, they just non-nonchalantly tell you to go use a leaf blower to blow the bubbles down as they form. Right - use a leaf blower on fresh epoxy? What could possibly go wrong? (Dirt). Regardless, I didn't have one, so now my floor is full of little pin holes with big circles around them where the bubbles formed. I don't know if all epoxy will do that, but that Epoxy Coat stuff sure did. If you look for reviews it talks about that too.

I will say, though, that it seems super durable. I haven't had any problems at all with it lifting. I have had hot cars parked for weeks on it too. So from that standpoint it is fine. I have a half kit of the clear left if you end up getting them too. I will give you a smoking deal on it!
