I had the engine & automatic transmission rebuilt to semi-stock specs, is there a procedure I should follow to seat the piston rings & what not?
The car has a SVO blower with 6 lbs of boost and the builder said he upgraded the piston rings over stock when it was put back together.
It's a '97 Ford 4.6 motor.

WOT and bam, broken in! :)

Pretty much this ^^^ The only time we break in a motor is if it is a flat tappet lifter, be it hydraulic or solid. Otherwise we fire it and bring it up a few thousand RPM for a minute or two, then we start lugging the motor (making baby pulls) about 3-4 times depending on how close the tuneup is. Then WOT a handful of times as we fine tune the motor. If you baby it, it will not seal up..... However I'm not advocating you power shifting your car every gear everytime you drive it either.

another vote for not babying it. Start it, run it a few thousand RPM for a bit, check temp and leaks. Drive and don't be afraid to be aggressive.
