Electical issues

Hey guys. The guy that does all my work on my homes, is out of the state on vacation and I can not reach him. My sister plugged in a space heater in her bedroom last night, as her furnace is being replaced today and is not functional. Her home was built in the late 90s, so it should be pretty cut and dry as far has GFIs and such. When she plugged in the heater, she lost power to that bedroom and bedroom 2. I went by there last night, I could only locate 2 GFIs. One in main bath, which I cycled and one in the kitchen which I cycled. Doing so, did nothing for the power outage. I went down stairs to the breaker box, there was not a tripped breaker. I am lost at this point. Anyone on the board and electrician that needs some spending cash that wants to come by and figure this out? House is near 96 and Farmington rd.

Thx guys.

its also possible that the breaker for that area looks like its still good but its actually tripped. my garage one does that if i plug in too much. it looks like its not tripped but its just ever so slightly past the point. just switch it back and forth and try that

My thoughts too. I was looking in the dark, did not see one. The plugs outside, I would think need to be GFIs but they are not. Ill look again today. Thx :)

Follow the logical physical circuit from the box. You've got a traditional outlet in circuit burned out.

X2 on a breaker being tripped, but not thrown all the way off. I've had it happen more than a few times.

This....
They don't always pop to the other end of the throw, just enough to open the circuit.
I'd say to open each one and then re-close.

You guys were right. Bathroom gfi was out just enough to kill the power to those 2 rooms. I replaced it and all is good. Thx all.

Outstanding! Sometimes the solution is so simple that we overlook it. I damn near rebuilt an entire lawn edger engine because it would die once it got hot. It was a bad spark plug that would open up and fail until it cooled back down.:slap:
