tps voltages were a bit low, i fixed that with no success.
changed to the other ignition coil and still nothing
the pip is the magnetic pick up sensor inside the distributor.
i guess an easy way to figure out if its the distributor or not is taking a known good distributor
and go from there.

I dont have an answer really, but what difference would the distributor make? You explained it will run up RPM ok if you dont mash it, but 5500rpm is 5500rpm, whether you get there quick or slow. Cant hurt to try though if you are just throwing parts at it.

Did you check your grounds? Is fuel pressure dropping of when it's cutting out?
I can pull the distributor out of my car if you want to come by and try it out? I'm over around Fort and Vanhorn.
