A #12 or higher welders lense will do just the same. That's if you have the equipment.
The auto darkening helmets are an option as well, if it's able to be set to 12 or higher by default or has a safeguard incorporated within its helmet. Easy check would be by taking the battery out. If its dark then its likely built in with the safeguard.
