And you may have to. Been there done that more than a few times.

Do you shear them off if they get too rounded?? Seems like they will need to be replaced anyway? How do dealer Tech's do it???

thanks guys, I am trying to get this done so I can get to the m-event

Usually they are Torx.t45 or t50. Yes it may be nessacary to use and air chisel to spin the loose.

that might help if I put a torx in there...the right tool! stupid me. But should I waste the time to go buy the tool or just try to blat them off?

They say you have to drop a trans once to know how much a PITA it is!

These transmissions are not that bad. I would say at this point I would just chisel them loose. Chances are the Torx portion of the head is damaged beyond use.

I am working with the chisel and its not budging and I have destroyed 60% of the head. I am bum'd this is so beating me!

Might be time for the hot wrench and a new flexplate. I may have a flex plate here if you need one.
