Don't try this excuse

When I was working on the east side of Detroit I had to pickup a car from our warehouse. The only gear it would go in was reverse. I wasn't walking back. I drove it for 2+ mile on Gratiot back to the store in reverse.
 
Seems pretty reasonable to me. Might have taken the backroads and stayed on the should during traffic though.

Summer of 1980 the forward gears in my transmission gave out leaving the Fairgrounds on Woodward and made it to Southfield and Warren when reverse gave out too.
I had 2 Detroit cops pull me over ,
and both let me go ...
