Does anyone make a generic 6 speed swap pedal set for cars that never came with manual transmission?

I wouldn;t put a t56 in a car that heavy. Not a good idea. The thrust loads will chew up the input shaft bearings hauling all that wieght.

You could also run a viper spec unit but finding a bell housing and clutch setup won;t be easy.

well Sean, ill probably be looking at one of your 4r70w's. Ever put one behind a Big Block? whats needed to control it? I dont want to go manual valvebody

Wondering how easy it'd be to convert my 73 Lincoln over to a T56, thats all...

I am almost done finishing my design for pedal setup in my Caprice. I used F-body pedals, but I can help you figure out a hydraulic setup.

The T56 can handle it if you build it well, but I am not sure how fun it'll really be. Really, the SSR handles it well at 4800# curb. Get a M10 box with the 3.01 first gear, you'll need it, and at least a 3.73-ish axle ratio on a 28" tire to make it even feel decent, regardless of engine torque.

I could make one up for you. Buaminator trans controller. If this is a low RPM application though I think a 4r100/e4od might be a better choice. Direct bolt up and plenty of parts to make it handle heavy loads and lots of torque.

Combine a big block with a turbo and a heavy car and the t56 isn't going to like that very much if at all.

a BBF with a smallish turbo at even a moderate amount of boost could easily make 800+ lb ft. You can use a t56. Its just going to blow up constantly. Alot of those lincoln pushed 4800lbs. Big heavy sleds.

what does that car weigh/power?
the t56 worked good in the 5100lb 500hp/525tq srt10

Well im probably going to be scrapping the turbo idea. Im probably just going to go for a 510hp/540lbft Stroker 557" with the ability to drop on a 150-200 shot if necessary

I wouldn't say it worked good. Ever drive one... shifter felt like crap, and when we had one at work, it went in 3 times for trans service. It did not like to be powershifted. Actually the whole truck sucked, but that's for another thread.

I'd follow Sean's advice. A torque converter makes a nice damper for all that torque going through the driveline..

What turbo were you thinking of using? Another S400 diesel turbo like on the Regal? Or something bigger?

I was gonna use the turbo off the regal, and put something else on the regal, PT88, GT45R or something

Id put at a minimum on a 540ci BBF a pt88. a s400 is gonna choke the piss out of a engine that big if its the one I think it is. Now if you have the big 136 hotside with the big turbine wheel 91mm and the 83mm compressor that would work well but I have no idea if you current turbo would work. What are the specs on it ?

I still side with the idea of running a E40d or a 4r100. The buaminator can control that transmission so the electronics coast is nill vs a 4r70w. I am sure I could build a 4r70w to hold the power but adapting it to a BBF would be pricey.
