With today’s lumber prices be prepared to pay 30% more then a year ago. Northville lumber has nice stuff just make sure you pick your own boards or they will load you up with the garbage boards, I built my deck a year ago just before prices went up and used them and had to exchange about 25 deck boards ( also their deck boards are thicker then everyone else) .
Correct deck boards a called 5/4 boards. I used pressure treated pine 5/4 boards from northville lumber. I’m not sure if this has effected the prices on trex to be honest. Either way your main structure will still be pressure treated or cedar lumber and then same for decking or trex.Did you use wood or Trex? I believe deck boards are 5/4 (five/quarter) boards, where as many people who don't know use treated wood or something like that from HD or Lowes...I learned this a few years back when I measured out my deck and started looking to replace a few of the really bad ones.
Trex seems to be about the same as usual. The guys I had come do estimates all said it's better to use composite decking right now because the price gap between wood and composite is really low right now.
Go to Northville Lumber ... they have a list of Qualified & Licensed Contractors ... plus the lumber they will sell you is higher quality than Lowes or Depot
FYI I used Azec decking instead of Trex due to a class action lawsuit at the time. Good stuff.
Can you mention who did install? Or did you do yourself with these materials?
