Dish Network line of sight

Anyone here actually work for Dish Network? After waiting all day yesterday for one of their contractors to show up, he spends 5 minutes in my back yard and says "no line of sight". And that was about it, I says "so you cant install it?" He says nope, it'll work right now but come spring I wouldn't have any signal. After he left I started thinking maybe he just didn't want to do it cuz it was getting late on New Years Eve and he didn't want to get wrapped up in another install. So I'm still stuck with Direct.

Your right, more than likely he is lazy.

Directvs main are 101,110 and 119 Degrees
Dishnetworks are 110 and 119 degrees, if you can get DTV you can get Dish 99.99999% of the time.

That sounds crazy... We have 4 satellites for different providers (including starchoice) and they all point in almost identical directions.

yeah ours was out this morning because of the snow.

our neighbor has a huge oak tree in their front yard and our dish points in that direction.

we currently has 3 dishes. 2 on the garage roof (one for the HD channels and 1 on the house roof for the wildblue internet)

it was out for about 4 hours this morning then it came back up. the sun was shining right at the dish on the roof and melted all that off and Mark
used a broom to clean out the one on the garage roof that was packed full of snow too.

Them people have terrible service contractors and we said when our 18 month commitment time was up that we are switching to Comcast cable for everything.

good luck with them.
