Dipped my Tahoe Matte Pearl White

I was not really a fan of the bright white paint on my Tahoe. It was a retired law enforcement vehicle and the bright white reinforced the auction vehicle look. Since I had some pearl powder in stock I decided to do a Matte White color. I wasn't thinking matte white originally, until I saw pictures of it on a C6 in another thread. I used a blend of Green, blue and silver ghost pearl powders in clear plasti dip.

Thanks for the comments, i am real happy with the way it turned out.

Yeah the product is sprayed on. I used an hvlp setup, but alot of diy prople are using earlex compressor guns.

In total I used 3 gallons of unthined dip (which became 5.5 gallons thinned) and I used 120 grams of ghost pearl powder. I have not sprayed the roof yet because I have some antenna holes to fix. I figure the roof will be another 3/4of unthinned.

how much was it to coat the hole truck?

Roughly I have 270 for the 3 gallons of dip + thinner, 56 for 120grams of ghost pearl+ 15 painters tape shop rags and plastic. Grand total of 340. A midsize car like an f body size would probably be about 50 -60 bucks less in materials. If there are enough people interested I can get a 50 gallon drum of plasti dip and fet the price down another 30 bucks or so.

Sweet! You should do the door handles, mirrors and bow-tie while you are at it.

I was thinking about doing the handles and mirors but they are textured...im am not sure the pearl would look good with the texture. I ended up picking up a set of chrome covers for them.

As for the emblems I am still debating on wheter to do them in the matching pearl, flat black, or put a two color chameleon dip in them

Pearl dip, black or the color of your wheels would look bad ass for emblems. The grill bowtie on my 2012 Silverado is white plastidip, and I removed the tailgate bowtie.

But that is a good looking Tahoe. Looks pretty tough.
