Detail people, step on in...GM plastic chrome cleaning

Trying to get some of the pitting out of the chrome trim pieces on the yukon. The trim around the windows is good, just the line across the doors and around the fog lights. I am pretty sure neverdull won't help me being the chrome is usually sticker over plastic, is there any saving of them with rubbing compound or just pull them off. I know the fog lights I will just have to replace, which they are cheap on Amazon.

That stuff can be very tricky to clean up. What products do you have? Whatever you test, try it in a hidden area first. Possibly on the top half of a fog light area that’s hard to see, the part that angles up and out. You’d have to be on the ground to see it. Test very small areas.

Here are a couple of products that I’ve heard other people have success with.

I have a good size collection of Meguiars product and some mother's wheel polish. I haven't tried the wax on it yet, just looking for suggestions so I don't mess it up. I ordered LED fog lights off Amazon that come with the housing and chrome bezel. They were $62 so that will be easier than polishing the fog light trim. The chrome sticker is peeling off the fog light bezel The strips down the side and on the running boards don't look like the fog lights, but are starting to not shine up with a bucket wash.

Those bezels are toast. You can see the chrome bubbling. Did you try the dealer? That truck doesn't look that old. Sweet truck though!

Thanks, it's a 2016 with 100,000 miles on it. Only used one I could find under 50k

I got gold class, cleaner wax and a cutting compound in Meguiars. Not using wheel polish, just telling you what I got. I will start with the cleaner, maybe try the clay bar in a spot to see if it comes off and then hit it with the wax.

Thank you, the ride didn't look that good Sunday. Tried to get out to Crisp Point Light House. Got 5 miles from the light house and was breaking through the ice into mud holes. Decided to turn around before I buried it with no cell phone service. Can't wait until mid april when the salt and snow should be over so I can put the factory 22s back on it.

So far this stuff has brought the most shine back to it. Still has some pitting, but much shine now. I forgot to do a before picture.

Wadding Polish is good stuff, I was hesitant to recommend it right off the bat as I felt it may be more abrasive than needed. Looks much better, though.
