How much power can a truck make?! Holy crap, this monster ford truck must have run 12's. And the tires were taller than my car. Insane.

My 2 wheel drive dually with just a Bullydog programmer runs 15.50s spinning its stock other then that. If it was 4 wheel drive it would run faster and you can add propane, bigger exhaust trans updates, etc

They can make a ton of power. There is a lot of aftermarket support for diesels and some of these guys take it serious. I have a 99 7.3 with a DT tuner (80 hp) and a little TLC to the turbo. It not only pulls like crazy it can be fun to drive. They are like any forced induction engine in that once you start cramming air in them all the rules for what shouldn’t be fast go out the window.
I had a Dodge Ram 60 ft me in the Mustang one time at Milan (not that hard). That diesel torque and 4 wheel drive can really get off the starting line.

More power than a big, heavy ass truck should have if you want to spend the cash. 500-700hp is pretty easily to achieve with bolt ons and good tuning.

The diesel torque and leaving on 20+ lbs (maybe more) of boost from brake torquing makes some sweet launches

Go to YouTube and punch in Diesel Power Challenge 2015 and check out some of those trucks, making over 2000 ft lbs of torque in altitude. They ran them at Bandimere, which is around a mile above sea level, pulling 10,000 lbs trailer on the back and they were still trapping 76+mph in the 1/8th mile.

I before E, except after c, and when it sounds like an a as in neighbor or weigh.....or diesel.[/QUOTE
You guys sound like my wife! And when she talks to me like that I bend her over the kithchen table. Let's talk cars, not correct grammar, bitches!!

A guy at work has a 5.9 cummins in his superduty that hit 1000hp on the dyno. It was somewhere near 3000 ft lb of torque. He said he could daily drive it and tow with it.
