Got my first buck opening day about 5:45pm was just about ready to call it a day and this fellow decided to go for a jog infront of me.Took it from about 5-10 miles of Houghton Lake.


And here was the shot that pieced his heart.


Whats everyone else been bringing in for dinner!

buck poles around me are empty, its weird, I have one buddy who got a deer and he hit it with his truck

Nice Deer. I was hunting off M55 and 127 by the swamp. Only saw 5 doe. Bunch of people around me got some nice bucks!

The pole on M-59 near Latson had about a dozen on it. Winner scored 158.

ya i seen a fat doe on sun but was way out, my dad still up there said he barley caught a glimpse of a doe this morning.talked to a few people from area they seem to think there is more deer moving around up there,and Camarokid i heard tons of shots in your direction sat but also at least 7 cars parked on 55 when i ran into town, seems like i seen more movement in the last hr of each day too, notta during day.

The pole on M-59 near Latson had about a dozen on it. Winner scored 158.

Just got back from the weekend and super slow and crazy quiet. Very little shots out and around! Seen a few nice ones on the way back home on cars but not to many.

The buck pole at ray'cs in lapeer had some nice bucks on opening day. I have not had any luck yet!!

wife shot her first one and ended up on a 2 mile blood track....damn. little bastard had some will....

I shot a northern Michigan state land monster on Saturday(small 6 point). If I was hunting down here or on private land I wouldn't have dreamed of it being a shooter. Of course it would've been a 1 1/2 yo here instead of a 2 1/2 yo up there. :lol:
