de-screen MAF

I have done it on my mustangs in the past. Will it do anything performance wise on my 06 GTO? Or is it a wast of time and cause a false reading on this car?

Its nice having a dyno in my shop, proves and disproves a lot of theories. For example...all these pig rich LS2s have been loving the MAF de-screen. The average of the 5 cars ive done, 14.4rwhp, 9.7ft/lbs torque. The best being 21+hp!

This is from a-z power and sound
That just sounds to good to be true

Dont do it. From what I gather it makes the car harder to tune if you ever do other modifications to it in the future. The screen helps the mass air sensor to read the airflow more accurately coming through it.

I do plan a few mods, My headers came in yesterday, and the catback and K&N is on. I am just doing the k&n, short tube headers, cat back and a tune.
I was hoping for some free HP.:icon_mrgr

Removing the screen in the maf will end up causing noise issues that most tuners don't like dealing with. Also I don't see it picking up any power, the screen is not very restictive.

you'll pick up 0% of power srewing with the MAF screen and you will create other problems. The screen is there to help with the noise from the aweful air ducting. You'll create youself some trouble.

Thats exactly what i heard. When i first got my car i tried everything to get some extra hp. I ended up being happy with just BBK Cold air kit alone.(not for long)
