It was SO brutally hot and humid that day. Pulled the car out of the trailer, immediately went 258.9 mph and knew that there was nothing even in the ballpark. The Texas Mile record for a car is 250.1 and that was done on a 75* day with a 25 mph tailwind. This was done on a day easily in the high 90's, air thick as cheese, with no tailwind.
I had the car at my house for the winter 2 years ago when it was making about 500 rwhp less. I drove it 50 miles from R.O to Dearborn and that was good enough. I was in Texas with Ray when he first got it back with the new Mehovitz combo, and after being a passenger in it on a service drive, I decided 1900 hp cars on hoosiers are definitely not for me...
