Does anybody know how to remove the axel shaft of a Jeep with a DANA 44 rear axle?

most early cj jeeps bolt in (hub & axle are 2 peices)
if your not removing the hub, remove the 4 bolts that hold the backing plate on and use a slide hammer to remove the axle from the housing, backing plate come with it, so disconnect and cap the brake line from the wheel cly.
if you think thats a pain in the ass, wait till you have to shim the axle end play(with shims behind the backing plate). major shitty design

It is the rear. My understanding is that a 44 has no clips, you unbolt the hub and pull the axle out, then put the new axle assembly in.
Is it really this simple?
