Class Overview
Vortech Outlaw 10.5W is designed for the quickest and fastest Ford-powered and Ford-powered vehicles with 10.5W type tires. Outlaw 10.5W entries are permitted small and big-block engines with single power adders in back-half type chassis. NMRA will award a year-end champion at the NMRA award ceremony, and the Top 10 in points will be presented with jackets. Points will be calculated by all points earned at all Vortech Outlaw 10.5W events held in 2007.
Vortech Outlaw 10.5 will be held at a limited number (2-3) of NMRA-Denso Ford Drag Racing Series events in 2007.

Add 150 lbs for use of clutch*If actual cubic inch is more than base cubic inch listing, there will be a weight penalty of 8.0 pounds per cubic inch assessed to base weights, up to the maximum cubic inch permitted in the class.
BODY:
Vehicle must be Ford-powered and Ford-bodied. Other acceptable body nameplates include Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, and Jaguar.
CHASSIS:
Back half vehicle required. No full-tube chassis chassis permitted. Front suspension must be stock-type or aftermarket stock-type replacement. Front frame rails & firewall required. Lower radiator core support allowed to be fabricated to clear turbocharger and supercharger mounting. Spindle mount wheels acceptable.
TIRES:
Vehicle must be equipped with approved tires. Acceptable sizes include those stamped 33 x 10.5W, 31 x 10.5W, or smaller. Maximum measured tread width at all times is 11.6- inches, and measured circumference is 105 inches.
GASOLINE:
Gasoline is the only acceptable fuel. No alcohol or nitromethane.
ENGINE:
Any Ford-based engine is permitted. Engine is allowed a single type of power adder, either nitrous, supercharged, or turbocharged. Turbocharged engines are limited to a single turbocharger (any size) or twin 88-mm turbochargers or smaller. (tip-to-tip measurement). Housings may be modified (i.e. slits in the housing).
Supercharged entries are limited to a centrifugal style supercharger only. Centrifugal reverse rotation superchargers are allowed, and these blowers are not restricted in housing size or impeller sizing.
Nitrous entries may run a big block Ford or small block Ford engine up to 740 ci with up to a maximum nitrous oxide. Four stage systems prohibited.
TRANSMISSION:
Manual transmissions with clutch, manual transmissions with torque converter, and OEM automatic transmissions are accepted. Entries with torque converter run at base weight.
NMRA REGULATIONS:
Class designation is: V/O
There are no permanent numbers required in this category for the 2007 season. NMRA membership is required and can be purchased on-site or on-line at

Vehicles are required to run the NMRA windshield banner at top of windshield, NMRA side stickers, and Vortech class sticker on front of vehicle. Contingency stickers may be placed on rear or side quarter glass, or on side of body (both sides) starting from front door jamb rearward.
