Custom Golf clubs..?

Anyone know where to go to get some? Dont want to spend an arm and a leg for some 2K customs but I've been told that you can get some Irons for a good price custom.

Thanks

custom golf clubs and not expensive don't compute. hell, just cheap not custom clubs for a couple woods I spent about $400. that was for a driver and a 3 wood.

Any specific reason you want custom? You would be better off finding a stock set you like and then have them fitted. They can change the lie/loft/length/flex/grip, basically make a set custom for you. Golfsmith, carls golfland, pro golf. All those places can do it for you.

Custom you spend 500-600 bucks and get some irons. Or I can buy some for 400 and they can hack them up and charge me 200 or more to change everything around.

I need some +1.5" lenght shafts. Lemme know what ya think Nate. I've been told Carl's is a good place to go.

I really don't think that Carl's will build you custom clubs, they don't have a club building department. They can order you clubs from the manufacturer to your specs, but I'm sure that it will cost a lot more to do that. I would try Golfsmith. They have a club building department that can change out shafts for you on any clubs you buy. You can buy a used set there and have them switch out the shafts to +1.5" and change the lie angle to what you would need for the extra length. There used to be a Gormans golf shop on Telegraph and 12 mile that could build you "custom" clubs for a reasonable price, but they've been gone for a while.

Last year I got a nice set of Callaways at Golfsmith and had them sized and they don't "hack them up." They ordered them special order from the factory at the lie angle I needed and then delivered them to me, all for no extra cost. They also have a nice custom shop and can build what you want, but they aren't cheap. I agree with the above post about picking a set of something you like then having them fitted. You're a tall dude and will need longer shafts, but I hear you like long shafts anyways.

I don't golf, but my Dad's business partner does. He's realy tall like you, Cable Guy, and he got customer fitted clubs at this place in Rochester called Golf Etc. He said the guy was real cool and he likes the clubs.

Custom Golf in Trenton. Knockoff clubs but; custom fitted and reasonably priced. Got mine from him and paid a little over $400 for #3 and #4 hybrids and 5 -PW. Tells you what your swing and club head speeds are also, as well as, will help you correct any swing issues you might have.

my dad got a set custom made from carls last year and they didn't charge him too much extra.. but the deals are usually better during demo days there.

The last set I bought I was not charged anything from Golfsmith to have them fitted to me. You might get an up charge to lengthen the shaft (god how gay does that sound) but to bend them they shouldnt charge you if you are buying a new set. I would suggest going to Golfsmith on Hall Rd, and get on a lie board. they will fit you right in the store and tell you the lie, loft, shaft length, etc that you need. Then you can look at the brands they have and they can order them to those specifics. Or at Golfsmith you can have them built with their custom components. If you want to go up there one day let me know, I could meet you out there. PM if you dont have my cell phone number anymore. But I would look into getting a brand name set fitted to you before I had custom clubs built. Not saying custom clubs arent good, but there is some good technology in golf clubs out there in whats available off the rack, and you can basically make them custom by having them fitted to you. I have my clubs checked once a year, and have them adjusted when needed.
