CTS to CT5 in 2017 Model Year?

Anyone have any info? I've read on some different forums that the CTS is going to the CT5 nameplate.

Was looking at a 2016 CTS V but I don't want to purchase a model that may have significant changes in 2017.

Interior refinements and CUE updates would be the most anticipated.

Any info would be great.

CTS is going to CT6
SRX is going to XT5

CT6 is a very different vehicle than the CTS - completely different architecture. Not sure what V-series offerings will be available on the CT6 platform.

The CTS will be the CT5. It will be mainly the same car. Some where along the way it may adopt the 3.0TT from the new CT6.

Damn, my bad! I even work for The General. Didn't realize the CT5 was even planned, and that it'd be a CTS replacement.

The CT#/XT# make the cars have a naming hierarchy and turn them into shoe sizes things is Johan's baby. I think he gets off of creating terrible vehicle naming structures.

XTS is gone after this year. The CT6 replaced it as the full size sedan. Good friend of mine is a GM of a large caddie store.

Really! I didn't know this. The XTS was really a stop gap car anyway. It was put in because for a while the CTS was the big Caddy once the STS and DTS was killed. Actually, the XTS V-Sport with the turbo 3.6 is a nice car. All wheel drive and over 400hp.

The XTS-V is an absolutely blast. It's "sneaky quick" - it's so quiet and smooth, I'd be rolling down 75 not realizing I was creeping up on triple digits. Without the big V8 roar, you go to pass someone and don't realize how quickly the speedo is climbing.

Anyone know if the 2017 CTS-V will offer different colors than the current model year?

The Vector Blue Metallic offered on the ATS-V is gorgeous. Wish it was available on the CTS-V

They change up a couple of the colors every year so you can always count on some change. It's just a crap shoot on what colors will be added and dropped. Some colors last a year and you see them across the entire GM line up (like that awful Glacier Blue Metallic color GM had a couple years ago), some colors stick around for a couple but may be available on just a couple cars or one brand's line up (like the absolutely brilliant, best color ever, Opulent Blue Metallic-much like Sonic Blue so a Ford guy can relate).

I'll see your CT(number) and raise you MK(letter). At least the numbers indicate the heirarchy. The letters don't mean a damn thing. We've owned just about all of them and I've worked on most of them... and I still have to think about which is which.

With the MKS being replaced by the Continental, we'll see if MK(letter) is going away for good just in time for Cadillac to adopt their new naming strategy.

I have a '06 Impala that color, worst color they've ever had lol. If the car wasn't $500 i would have passed on it.
