On Friday night an angry motorist mowed down a group of about 150 people on bicycles riding for Critical Mass in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The motorist accelerated his vehicle directly through the group of riders, injuring about 20 riders and sending 8 victims to the hospital ER with at least one victim still remaining hospitalized in serious condition.

This is really the first time I've heard of a "Critical Mass" bike ride...basically, where a large group of people get together on bikes and ride slowly, intentionally clogging up the roads. I guess the Golf owner just got pissed and snapped, and took them all out. Crazy.
 
1) I assume this critical mass ride was a submissive "protest" to raise awareness for bike riders and their safety on the road, which means the goal is to SHARE the road. So, in essence, they're taking an eye for an eye approach by clogging up the street and not allowing traffic to pass.

2) Although I do agree that the driver's actions were far beyond wrong in this instance, this to me is just like the guys that stick their head in a crock's mouth. Do it enough and eventually, you're gonna get bit. If you don't want to get run over, don't clog up the road.
