It looks like my car is going to need a bigger hood. I would like a 4 inch, but i will look at whatever you have. I have a ton of parts if anyone wants to swap and could do cash too.

With gas prices being about half what they are, you could probably make a road trip down to H.O. Fibertrends and pick up a new one. They were selling them for $275 at the swap meet 2 weeks ago. Here's alink to their site.

And here's the hood I bought fromthem about a month ago. It's a crappy cell phone pick, sorry but the fit seems to be good.

It's what they call their 4" but with the extension, it gets taller. I believe if I remember what I measured it was 5.5" at the back.

ho fibertrends FTW!! there stuff always fits great. and to think, that company was started out of the guys garage

cerveinis products fit like gloves. we have a cerveini 4 inch cowl on our 83 and that thing fits great

Dont know if thats going to be tall enough. I know the big block dist sits up pretty high up front. I will find out for sure.

If you can measure across the top of the fenders ( like wheel back spacing) and out from the firewall, to find where the dist is going to be. I can probably set my hood onthe car and tell you how much clearance there is at that spot. I have no engine/front suspension in the car right now so it should be easy for me to measure from inside.

sweet we will probably need one for ours once the BBC is in it and I like that style but we are not sure what size it needs.

if something falls though, if you have a stock hood painted to match my car ( read Beau ) you can have my 2 1/2 cowl hood in return
