Seems like one problem after another....
My dad is legally blinde but not 100%. I just found out that now my mom is legally blinde, her left eye is bleeding from the inside and with her being a diabetic her body cannot fight off infections.. The docter said he gives her maybe 1 year or 2 years max unless she gets her sugar under control.. I swear my family has been through so0o0o much how much more can happen? ugh!!!!!! Way too much shit has happend to my family

Thank you everyone... I don't mean to complain just seems like super tragic things always happen. Things have been going on since 2002.. But I do think about the good in life, I'm happily married and I have a 6 month old daughter..

Thanks again everyone

Don't look at it that way. I looked at it that way for long with my health issues. One day I woke up and just thought, "You know what? Fuck it! I'm not letting this stuff get me down anymore." Within a few weeks, problems started going away, I started getting better, new issues were found that helped old issues, etc. People who know me would agree that I deal with everything with humor. As hard as it may sound, look on the bright side, look on the funny side of things. I understand thats hard with death, but you can always find something humorous in things.

If you think I sound like a complete jackass then just disregard this entire post. I'm just saying whats worked for me. Not only with my problems, but family issues as well.

If the doctor is telling your mom she has 1 - 2 years unless she gets her sugar under control, that means she needs to get her ass in shape.
I went through this with my grandmother. She was given 6 months and after a hard lesson, she made it three years and basically ended up killing herself with her medicines after someone gave her a bunch of Mountain Dew.

She was legally blind and far outlived her life expectancy because we kicked her ass. When she died, there were like 6 Mountain Dew cans in the sink. It was 100% her fault.

Praying isn't going to save your mom from diabetes, she can save herself by straightening up, eating right, getting in shape, etc. A lot of diabetics end up going blind and getting infections from not properly caring for themselves. Hopefully this will be a wakeup call for your mom and she will do what she should have been doing all along.

Good luck, it's not easy dealing with a non-compliant diabetic.

Kind of harsh if you ask me.... My mom has had medical problems her whole life... She has had 3 surgerys on her foot from an infection.. Even if she gets a paper cut it wont heal very well....... I never said praying was going to help with diabetes... But I happen to have a strong faith in god and it doesn't hurt to pray for something like that to get better....

Not trying to be harsh at all. Of course it doesn't hurt to pray...

However having been a person who was in a similar position to you in the past, I can tell you I know how frustrating it is. I'm here if you need someone to listen as I've been there before.

I've also been the person who didn't feel like trying to get healthy anymore. I am pretty familiar with both sides of the story.

I am very familiar with diabetes and can't stress enough how important it is that diabetic patients follow a good diet and stay in shape. For your Mom's well being it is important. Sorry if I offended you in any way, that was not my intention.
