costco deals

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone was aware if costco does any deals on their membership or is the price always set in stone? thanks

Some time they have deals. My sister law received a bunch of free stuff to sign up so her membership price was a wash. I think it was through her work.
If you get an executive membership you can earn 2% cash back. So if you spend enough it more than covers it.

Only thing I buy at costco is Muffins and the cakes. Pretty much everything else i can usually find cheaper

Costco is well worth it. It is an event but i have a big family. If your shopping for one don't bother but there are some great deals. Just a for instance. 2 of my kids are lactose intolerant so they drink almond milk. Costco is 3 for $7 it is around $3.30 each at the store. Paper towel and TP are pretty cheap too but then again I just like the samples.

what he said, How many kids you have, also if you have storage room for some of the deals its worth it. Im a family of 4 and closest costco is 25 minutes, so its doesnt make sense for me, But my parents have a membership for now, they have the amex that gives a "free" costco membership, they supply muffins, olives and cakes for me

I'm shopping for one and still find a Costco membership of value.
I go usually once every ten to twelve days.
Their beef filet is as good or better than Hiller's or Plum Market and considerably less expensive.
Their organic ground beef is a good buy. I usually buy six pounds at a time. They are wrapped in 1 or 1.25 LB packages.
Perfect size for making pasta or a couple burgers..
I go through a lot of eggs, yogurt, olive oil, cheese, etc. Stuff that you go through quick when you cook every day.
Kroger is a better deal for soda. Adult refreshments are a wash given there are several stores that sell at Michigan minimum pricing.
Like everything though you have to shop selectively.

My work has sign up events each year where Costco gives you a $10 gift card for signing up for a new membership. We like it, we usually go once a month or so.

Likewise, I get a $10 gift card & a goodie bag when I renew with Sam's Club.
I compared Sam's & Costco, I found for my shopping Sam's was much better.

I buy most of my food from Sams twice a month, and get the odds and ends from Kroger or Randazzo's every week. Surprisingly, produce is cheaper at Randazzo's than it is Kroger.

I love my membership, I buy my chicken (I eat roughly ten pounds a week) and most groceries from them. If organic isn't on sale anywhere else they have the best prices on chicken and beef. Also buy all of my gas there, since I have a location close to work and home.

Cell phone contract renewals and new phones are a no brainer for costco. I usually go once every couple of months and buy the essentials to get our family of 3 by for a while

Yup, buy my frozen chicken, fruits, PB, etc all there..Worth it.

Plus the gas is typically 10-20 cents per gallon cheaper than most places around them.

I got a discount to Sams (different store, I know) and they gave me $50 toward my first time purchase. It paid for itself.

As far as either store goes, you have to spend money to save money.

Where Costco/Sams is a no brainer, if you have a big family or buy a ton of food.

Another example, Monster Energy drink. You figure at $2.50-$3 a can in a normal store or about $30 for a case (24 cans IIRC) Just buying that 2 times a year pays for the membership.

You have to shop smart there. You probably dont need 10 pounds of hot dogs or 1000 cans of green beans so the bulk thing can get annoying if you only want something small. If you are really good, you can plan your meals/food purchases out way further in advance because either store doesnt always have exactly what you want.

Having tires serviced is one of the top reasons I have a Sam's Club card.
Yesterday, I took my car to Sam's, I did not buy my tires there. I had them
mount & balance 1 wheel to replace a bent rim & re-balance the other 3.
total cost was $9.50.

Nice! I'll have to keep that in mind.

sounds like I'll be getting a costco membership and just eating the membership fee, I just wanted to be cheap and not pay for it if I didn't have to lol. It will be my girlfriend and I shopping there so I hope we can get our moneys worth.

For the atv guys; costco has great deals on tires. They were $20 per tire cheaper than anywhere online, and they mounted them for free.

I am pissed they no longer carry Mateos salsa.
