Ive got this photo thats been hanging next to my desk ever since Ive worked here. I kind of inherited it, its a large drawing probably about 3' tall and 4' wide. Anyhow, I never knew what the meaning behind it was until today when an old timer came down and we got to talking about it.

I guess back in the early 90s when we started working on the Modular program, one of the chief's at the time wanted to stick with the old SBF technology. Well they built some prototype 5.0s code named 505 that supposedly walked all over the 4.6's in terms of power and got equal gas mileage, but they were pretty much maxed out as far as any future upgrades so the program was cancelled. Anyhow the chief was also good friends with a CAD designer who was also an artist who drew this picture of "Jurassic" 5.0, 5.8, and 2.3 powered dinosaurs killing and eating Mod powered Dinosaurs. I thought it was pretty funny and thought Id share.

See this is why we have to work so hard in the industry now, cause those f'ers were painting dinosaurs instead of working, and now were paying the price haha. Nice photo, bring that one home for the garage!

Hey you can't forget the 4.9 powered pterodactyl in the left corner.. I worked on the PN-96 (97 F150) program. Old timers? I really never thought of myself as one:mmm:

Cool pic. I loved that old school stuff when I was working at the GM Tech Center, especially Design Center.
