I know many of you have done this but this is my first time. i have a 88 t-bird with a 89 mustang motor. i plan on runing a carb setup w/ 75-100 shot plate kit. i have the fuel pump, regulator, and msd blaster 2f coil, and am still trying to aquire the other parts. anyway, anybody have any helpfull hints? problems they ran into? or anything? please feel free to let me know!

I have done it before. From my experiences I would keep it efi.

For the cost of parts and labor involved, you could easily make it run better with efi.

I did it on an 87 5.0 lx back in the day and it ran better efi. For the cash I spent going carbed I could have bought all the bolt ons for an efi setup or some sticky tires and spray. Which should have been the route I took anyways. With that small shot on a stock 89 setup with traction should shave a full second off of your previous best with the same combo.

I'd run a new wire(12 gauge) to your pump with a switch. make sure you fuel pressure is around 5 1/2 - 7 1/2 psi, and u may have to fab up something for the throttle cable.

Here's the deal i had a brand new set of fms 30lb injectors to go along with the diablo chip and mass air meter. they were stolen out of my garage( not a big suprise) but i sold my throttle body and egr, and have allredy pulled the fuel system off. it is sitting with a short block in it. i alredy have fuel fump, regulator, msd 2f coil, and am about to get a good used msd 6a ignition. no turning back now its eather carbed or CRUSHED. ( any good deals on a good used performer style intake or a holly 650 double pumper let me know)
Thanks
Dave

#30's with no real injectors! It was a blessing that you didnt put those on cuz it woulda ran like crap and you wouldnt have known why.
