Console panel

So I hated that I could never change a CD when the car was in park. Plus I wanted all my gauges in one place. I like the Gaugesplates.com plates, but didn't like the idea of the HVAC controls not lighting up. So I made my own.

CAD drawnings.

3 plates cut. 2 of them with stand offs welded for the HVAC controls. I cut one with 3 gauges, 2, and 1.

Plate in the car painted with a textured paint. Turned out ok. Wish it was a little more flat black. But it said flat black on the can.

And the back of the plate where the HVAC controls bolted to the plate. Had to countersick the screws as they needed to be flush with HVAC unit.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. But its done. Little bit of a learning curve, but its in.

Color is a little too glossy. But I wanted the texture finish.

Nice work, looks better than most of the similar pieces I see around on the Foxes. Funny you did this, I'm in the middle of a custom center console project on my own as well.

Thats a neat setup. Nice work! I still need to make a panel for all my gauges. Im probably gonna end up using plexiglass though.

is that actual autoCAD or is it solidworks? im gettin into solidworks and thats kind of what it looks like but im not sure i only used cad for 2-d drawings
