Captain Slow
Found a good deal on an '04 GTO that will help reduce my payment almost $100 a month from where it is now. So, if all goes as planned, I'll be picking this up Friday:

:)

If not, oh well...free post

 I had an '06 GTO a few years ago but had to sell it. I've been looking at them ever since, and finally figured the '04s were good enough for me and I found this one that was below my budget for a replacement vehicle, and decided to go for it :)

Yeah, blue interior with blue gauges. My first GTO was Torrid Red with red interior and red gauges...guess I've cooled off a bit since then

Everything's all set...should be good to go unless something drastically changes in the next 24hrs. Leaving tomorrow around 11am to head down there (it's in IL)

One thing I have to ask...it's been a while, so do I have to worry about ragging on this car a bit? With the MS3 I always felt worried pushing the pedal to the floor in anything other than second gear. This shouldn't be an issue with the GTO, correct? From what I remember, the LS1 (especially stock) is pretty robust

You can beat it hard and it will love it. Just make sure you don't over-rev it. They can tap valves to pistons and bend up pushrods when you do that.

Congrats man, sweet ride. I'm jealous, I can't wait till spring time to get a fun ride again.

is that a big dent in the rear of the passenger door?

I thought the same thing, too...I think it's just a reflection of the drapes in the door. Had to go with the 5.7 because it fit into my budget...if I would have gotten a 6.0 my payment wouldn't have gone down nearly as much without having to put more money down.

in all fairness the 5.7's are still fun to drive as a DD, even though the 6.0's are faster and got the better brakes and hood/bumpers
