We left back in 2016 and ended up in KY. We’ve decided it’s time to move back.

What’s the job market like? Down here it seems like everyone says they’re hiring, but they’re really not.

I know I can find something up there.

30 years mechanical/electrical Maintenance. Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronics, but no Journeymans card or anything like that.

See you all soon (eventually)…lol

It depends on where and what you want to do.

Pretty much everyone is hiring, but they don't want to pay more than 2019 wages. Pretty sure most places have the hiring sign up as a coping mechanism for making existing workers that are overworked feel like help is coming and to also see where the salary expectations are to try to retain people.

I recommend not advertising how much you're expecting, or set it really low. Even if it's a waste of your time because they have caviar eyes and seaweed budget, you get some interview experience. Don't feel bad about it because at the end of the day, you're not really wasting their time anyway because they get an education of what talent actually costs.
