04 grand prix gtp jus. just replaced strut mounts, didnt fix it. seen somewhere that it might be cv joints. the noise sounds like it might be coming from there. mostly makes the sound at slow turns, like backing up or parking. how hard is it to replace cv joints?

Does the noise get faster as speed increases? usually they will make noise whenever turning-not just at slow speeds. Not too hard to replace if you have decent tools and mechanical knowledge.

they are actually pretty easy to change on the newer cars its front wheen drive so u will have to remove the axle nut , pull the brake rotor and shock off the axke without pulling the axle out of the tranny and get the correct tools

drive the vehicle in a strait line and pull the steering wheel hard left then hard right. see if you can hear a noise/ and if it varies with speed. most likely a hub bearing. the clicking noise is normally a CV joint. inspect both front axles. check the inboard and outboard boots. if torn the joint is most likely bad or on its way out. also check to see that there is no excess up and down play. there should be some play in and out of the hub/transaxle for suspension geometry.
